The Story of Elle & M Designs

Made with Love

My Love of fashion came from my grandfather who owned a department store. Growing up and working in the business exposed me to all facets of the industry. After college, I moved from South Carolina to California working for fashion companies Georgio Armani & Esprit de Corp. I loved the creativity and self expression fashion designers had.

A lifetime later back in the South and having babies, I tried my hand at designing and sewing their clothes. Well that didn't last long! Then I had an unfortunate blessing of giving birth to a stillborn. It changed me in many ways. I channeled that love and grief into designing jewelry. Mostly for friends and family but I found it was my self expression and very therapeutic!

After a few more ups and downs, divorce, life...I decided to find the passion once again that has always been there. As a single mom and my most cherished human beings on the planet were my children, it seemed like the perfect name for my company. "Elle" is my daughter and "M" is for my son Maddox.

My style is more chic and minimalistic. I like wearing things that I can live in whether it be sitting by the beach, swimming in a pool or hiking up a mountain.  Most of my collection is waterproof, meant to be worn daily. It's been over 20 years since I made my first piece of jewelry and I hope you enjoy it as much as I enjoy making it!
